My love of flowers and my desire to capture their spirit was the beginning of my love of art. As a young teenager, I would spend hours sketching and drawing, studying every part, then bringing each one to life in watercolor.
I picked up painting again in my late twenties, only to find the same passion for expressing the spirit of things. In addition to florals, I began exploring abstract themes, still life, landscapes, and figures.
I now live in the wonderful town of State Line, Mississippi, where I am an artist full time... and an obsessive gardener. I work at developing my skills through diligence (advice I got from a fortune cookie). I try to express the spiritual energy of people, plants, and scenes so that a definite feeling is conveyed, a sort of "seeing the unseen." I feel there is great truth in the little things, and a lifetime of meaning in human eyes.
