RITA MEADOWS

Her hobbies were music and art. At age twenty-one, she decided to become a professional vocalist and traveled in Europe and North Africa as a band vocalist – but carried her art instruction books with her.
In 1974 she moved to the United States in Ocean Springs, MS with her husband Donald and son Matthew. She continued her art education at the local community college and attended many workshops by well-known artists. She is a member of the Ocean Springs Art Association Co-op Art Gallery where she exhibits her works: paintings, pottery, and stoneware jewelry.
She has participated in many art competitions and won numerous awards.
In 2003 she wrote, illustrated, photographed, and painted a children’s book named “Little Yarn.”
Art and music have always been a part of her life. |
