Conrad James Klauk is a local artist of Hattiesburg. He became interested in art at an early age, after watching his own father drawing at the kitchen table. His first works were in pencil. Later in his junior high school years, he took art classes. He entered military service and did not resume his art for nearly twenty years. His interests now include oil, pencils, and watercolor.
His art training includes a year at junior high school, two years through a correspondence course as well as private lessons from an oil artist tutor in California.
He joined SMAA in 2001 and has sold several of his paintings through them. He is currently expanding his artwork to focus on animal pictures.
