EARL DEMENT
Earl DeMent's interest in art can be traced back to his childhood. However, the military, starting a family and a business career postponed any serious art effort until 1986 after retiring from AT&T.
He began painting watercolor landscapes in rural Maryland and Virginia. Soon after, he was recognized as an emerging artist and began earning awards in juried shows. His works can now be found in both private and corporate collections throughout the mid-Atlantic states. Earl and his wife Millie, also an artist, had the honor of several of their paintings being selected for scenes in the Disney movie, "What about Bob?".
The success Earl has enjoyed he attributes to study, working hard to develop necessary skills, painting as much as possible and, most importantly, starting out on the right path conducted by master watercolor painters and instructors Zoltan Szabo and Tony Couch.
Earl and Millie recently moved to Hattiesburg and plan to continue painting in Mississippi.
