Evelyne Breland's paintings usually start with her primary medium of watercolor. As the work progresses, she may add pen and ink, pencil color, pastel or collage to express the subject to her satisfaction. Her subjects may be presented in a traditional, whimsical or abstract manner.

Although Evelyne majored in Art at the University of Southern Mississippi, she continues to take workshops with many well-known artists and to study with her extensive art library. As a member of the Mississippi Art Colony, Evelyne attends the Colony's semi-annual workshops.

She is a member of the Mississippi Watercolor Society, the South Mississippi Art Association, and the Vicksburg Art Association. She has taught at the Institute of Learning in Retirement associated with the University of Southern Mississippi.

Evelyne's paintings have won numerous awards in judged shows in Louisiana and Mississippi. Her artwork can be found in both private and corporate collections through the United States and in several foreign countries.
