JO-ANN CIOLINO ADAMS Jo-Ann Ciolino Adams is a native of New Orleans. She began studying art as a child and later attended Tulane University, attending classes at Newcomb College Art School with instructors Hal Carney and Ryland Greene. She has attended two summer painting workshops in Maine, studying with Ray Loos, and one at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, taught by Katalin Gergo. Jo-Ann has traveled and painted in Italy, studying with Adrian Deckbar, and has also attended workshops in New Orleans taught by nationally known artists, including Don Andrews, Ed Whitney, Judi Betts, Milford Zornes and Robert Wood. She has attended demonstrations at conventions of the American Society of Portrait Artists. Jo-Ann Adams is a member of the Louisiana Watercolor Society and the South Mississippi Art Association, participating in member shows. She is also a member of Whimsies, a group of New Orleans artists. She has been enrolled at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied with Auseklis Ozols, Katalin Gergo, Martha Guthrie and Jean Cassels. In 2004, Jo-Ann won the Auseklis Ozols Faculty Award in the Student Art Show. In 2004, Jo-Ann completed the construction of her art studio in Poplarville, MS. The studio is located on property bounced by Wolf Creek, a beautiful waterway which becomes the Wolf River as it winds its way down to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
